Shan Hai Jing: Beast Chronicle

AI-narrated Shan Hai Jing RPG with guohua beast portraits and Wu Xing turn-based combat.

Shan Hai Jing: Beast Chronicle is a free browser RPG built around AI-narrated Chinese myth, pre-rendered guohua beast portraits, and compact 1v1 turn-based combat. Type an action and the narrator streams the next scene with structured metadata for location, emotion, intent, and beast focus. Guohua backdrops crossfade as the story shifts; when a beast appears, the game uses cached portrait art for 20 Shan Hai Jing creatures across 404 common scene/emotion combinations instead of waiting on live image generation. If the encounter becomes hostile, the world pauses for an ink-brush prelude and enters a Wu Xing battle system: normal strike, two-turn guard, focus for energy and HP, or a heavy special. Metal, wood, water, fire, and earth counters, guard reductions, ±10% damage jitter, and 12% crit chance keep each duel readable but variable.
